Christmas Tree Farm

Ever since we've been married Logan has wanted a real tree for Christmas. I was reluctant because of the price, I already had a fake tree, and my allergies and pine don't normally get along. But Since we are on our 6th Christmas together, my allergies don't act up at the Carpenters, and my poor fake Christmas tree looked extremely sad last year...I decided the day after thanksgiving to give it a whirl. Logan was still asleep when I decided this and I woke him up and asked him if he wanted to go to Shoney's breakfast and then go get a Christmas tree. He said that it sounded cool....but the next day. He wanted to find a Christmas tree farm, Shoney's breakfast bar wouldn't have been open alot longer once we finally got there, and he though his family might like to join us (they were gone somewhere that day.) So, the Saturday after Thanksgiving Logan and I, the Carpenters, Micheal and Marybeth, and Josh Alsip all went to Shoney's for breakfast (yum!) and then went to a Christmas tree farm. It was so cool. The the trees were really cheap. They were only $25 no matter what size you got! And the family who ran it was very nice. We looked at about 6 ft trees at first, and then Logan was like "We have a big livingroom now, let's get a big tree!" Boy did we get a big one!!! It's 8 ft tall and about 8 ft wide!! When he undid the netting he disappeared!!!! It was so funny. So I thought I'd share the few pictures I have of our adventure and our absolutely BEAUTIFUL tree. (I think it's the prettiest one I have ever seen!) My batteries ran out half way through...so when I download pictures from MaryBeth's camera I'll post more.

Mackenzie and I among the pretty trees
Our tree in it's netting...it's so big they could barley get it in the machine to get the netting around it!

I got the whole experience on video!

Pretty!

Behind it is the door to our bedroom....we can barley get in there!

Takes up the whole corner....you can kind-of tell how big it is...but you almost have to see it to really tell.

1 year old pictures

I took these pictures of Mackenzie last week. I love this outfit. It even has a cute hat, but she wouldn't keep it on long enough for me to take a picture. She hates things on her head.

The hat is on the bench with the coat.

This picture always makes me laugh every time I look at it!

She was very curious about the rocks...it was all I could do to keep them out of her mouth!

Mackenzie's 1st Birthday!

A year ago..............
Today!........
My what a difference a year makes!
My little baby is turning into a toddler! I would be sad, but she's just so cute!! I love her so much, even though she is a handful of energy sometimes! I love her kisses, morning smiles, gazillion faces, scrunchy nose, giggles, playing peekaboo, and spunky spirit.
She's my little ray of sunshine!
We just had Logan's family, my family, the Alsips, and Steve and Sherri and their boys over...though it still totaled 30 people! We had them over Sat afternoon (the day before her birthday) for cake and punch. Mackenzie was spoiled rotten and loved the attention! Here are some pics of her opening her gifts and eating her cake.

Do you think that's enough presents for one baby??? They were all just from Family too!

"A hat Mom?"

Mom and Dad had this picture frame made for her

Party Animal!!

She loved this keyboard

She LOVES cellphones

And was given two if that tells you anything!

She loves to play ball now

Her 'cake'

Her personal 'slice'

"Happy birthday to you.....

....dear Kenzie!"
(yes she touched the flame)

Warming up to the idea

Ohhhhh

This is cool

Getting the hang of it!

She got mad at me for touching it

This is good!!!

Okay, I think I'm done!

Not messy anymore....though I could use a bath!
